The cashmere of chains. Dozens of fine gold chains woven into a round cord, so she rolls between your fingers and moves as one piece instead of link by link, with small white gold beads threaded along her at intervals.
We bought her for the weave. Mesh this fine takes far more wire and far more labour than a plain chain of the same width, and the white gold beads mean she sits well against either metal. Six and a half inches, on a lobster clasp. She reads as texture from across a room, which a flat chain never manages.
