This 10k yellow gold ring came to us without its stone, its setting empty but far too charming to pass by. The mount is full of detail, scalloped edges framing the top and bottom, stepped and ribbed shoulders, the kind of hand-worked character you rarely see. So we found it a stone worthy of the setting: a large emerald-cut green amethyst, soft pale green and beautifully clear.
Green amethyst, also called prasiolite, is prized for exactly this gentle, watery colour, calming and easy against the warmth of yellow gold. An empty setting brought back to life, given a second chapter and a stone that suits it. Resizable, so it finds the right hand.
