A large oval jade cabochon, its green soft and gently mottled, bezel-set at the centre of a domed 18k yellow gold ring. The gold is finished with a fine brushed texture, and small diamonds are tucked into engraved floral stars set around the band, little points of light against all that warmth.
Jade has been carved and worn for thousands of years, valued for its density and its quiet colour. Here it is given real presence, a substantial stone on a substantial ring, the diamonds and the florentine texture softening its scale rather than competing with it. Resizable, so it finds the right hand.
