Lapis Hearts Pendant
"This one is so fun. A very classic symbol, a fun shape, paired with a killer stone."
— Megan, founder & curator
Two lapis hearts prong-set on curving gold stems off a single bail, the whole thing rigid, so she holds her shape and sits the same way every time you put her on. It is a cherry, essentially, with hearts where the fruit should be.
The stone is why she is here. Before chemistry produced a synthetic blue, lapis was ground into paint, and it cost Renaissance painters more than gold, which is why the Virgin Mary is nearly always shown wearing it. She runs 21.5mm from bail to point, and this blue is deep enough to hold its own against yellow gold.
