Endlessness, set in gold. This antique signet ring features a cushion-shaped face of deep black enamel, from which a gold infinity symbol rises in quiet relief. The shoulders of the band are hand-engraved with chevron and geometric detailing, fine lines that taper toward the finger with real craftsmanship. Black enamel in signet rings was widely used during the Victorian mourning jewelry tradition, when pieces were made to commemorate loved ones lost, the darkness of the enamel a mark of grief held close to the body. Over time the aesthetic moved beyond mourning into something more broadly symbolic, the black and gold combination carrying a weight and formality that feels entirely its own.
