Like seeds scattered along a vine. This 22" necklace is strung with polished gold marquise links, their elongated pointed ovals catching the light as they move. Fine and weightless between links, then suddenly full and dimensional, the rhythm of the chain is quiet but deliberate. The marquise shape has been cherished in jewelry since the 18th century, said to have been commissioned by King Louis XV in honor of the Marquise de Pompadour, its elegant pointed oval meant to mirror her famous smile. Worn long, it grazes the collarbone and beyond, a piece that layers beautifully or stands alone as something quietly special.
